An Open Letter to the Arabidopsis Community from the New TAIR Director

An Open Letter to the Arabidopsis Community from the New TAIR Director

Dear Researcher,

After many years of working behind the scenes at TAIR first as curator, then Director of Curation, and then Chief Scientific Officer after the founding of Phoenix Bioinformatics, I am honored to step into Eva Huala's shoes as TAIR Director.

To plant biologists new and old, I look forward to continuing to grow and improve this shared community resource that has helped so many of us (me included!) advance our research.  Long ago and far away, I too was working at the bench, growing Arabidopsis in the greenhouse and growth chamber, and turning to TAIR for reference. I'm so proud to be part of a team that over the years has built a strong and reliable 'encyclopedia' for plant research.  We at Phoenix Bioinformatics are committed to a strong and vibrant future for our shared community resource.

We are always open for feedback on how to improve and for opportunities to collaborate on many fronts. You can reach me at tberardini@arabidopsis.org.

See you online, and, hopefully, very soon in person.  Thank you for your support.

Best wishes for 2022,

Tanya
